Teens

As teens it’s easy to think nothing will ever to happen to us. If you feel healthy and strong it’s hard to imagine that something could be wrong with you – especially something that might cause Sudden Cardiac Death or SCD.

Sudden Cardiac Death can happen to anyone at anytime. You have seen it in the news,  it happens, it’s real. Athletes at all levels, from high school to professional, die each year from SCD.

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) or an enlarged heart is the leading cause of SCD in teenagers. Unbelievably, HCM is 100% detectable. No one has to die from this senseless condition.

Heart Screens for Teens is dedicated to preventing death from HCM. We come to your school and give you an Ultrasound of your heart. This single screening can quickly show if you are at risk for HCM.

Locate a screening close to you and make sure you are screened. Taking 15 minutes out a Saturday can save your life or the life of a friend.
